Introducing a new generation of superautomatic espresso machine that combines grind-by-weight extraction, automated calibration, and advanced milk technology to redefine consistency and operational performance in high-volume coffee environments.
AUSTIN, Texas — Pro Coffee Gear today announced a U.S. initial launch partnership with CAYE Technology to introduce the Smart X Series to the American market, marking the debut of a new generation of super automatic espresso machines designed for cafés, hospitality groups, convenience programs, and multi-location coffee operators seeking greater beverage consistency, lower training complexity, and stronger operational control.
Available now for pre-order through Pro Coffee Gear and its Pro Coffee Partner network, the Smart X platform introduces a fundamentally different approach to espresso automation — replacing estimated dosing systems with real-time grind-by-weight extraction control, adaptive calibration, and integrated operational intelligence.
At the center of the Smart X platform is CAYE’s AccuPowderWeigh system, a built-in C3-grade weighing system that measures every dose in real time with less than ±0.2g deviation, even after hundreds of consecutive shots. Combined with CAYE’s Closed-Loop System (CLS), which continuously monitors extraction and automatically adjusts grind size, the machine is engineered to maintain consistency throughout high-volume service environments.
“Smart X is the most advanced espresso machine platform we’ve seen enter the market,” said Wes Wakefield, Founder of Pro Coffee Gear.
“CAYE took the current state of the art in commercial espresso automation, studied what the industry’s leading platforms do well, and then built a categorically better machine by applying more than 200 patents throughout the Smart X system. This isn’t simply a new entrant among a sea of superautomatics, it’s a next-generation platform tailored to solve the most crucial challenges operators deal with every day.”
Wakefield pointed to extraction consistency, milk-system reliability, simplified recipe creation, temperature stability, and fleet-wide drink standardization as some of the platform’s biggest differentiators.
“Most superautomatics still rely on indirect dosing methods,” Wakefield said. “Smart X actually weighs every dose before extraction and self-corrects in real time. That changes what’s possible for consistency across high-volume environments.”
The Smart X B2CSY configuration combines automated espresso production with simultaneous milk steaming and milk texturing, allowing operators to deliver specialty-level beverages at scale while simplifying workflow and training requirements.

Key features include:
Real-time grind-by-weight extraction control
Automated calibration through CAYE’s Closed-Loop System
Vertical Vibrating Distribution (VVD) for level coffee-bed preparation and reduced channeling
Restrictor-free high-performance milk system
Dual independent grinder motors to maximize uptime
Inlet TDS monitoring system to maintain water quality
Reverse gravity extraction for improved saturation stability
Large-capacity coffee boiler architecture for temperature consistency
Modular internal design for simplified service and maintenance
Cloud-connected fleet management through CAYE’s IoT platform
According to Pro Coffee Gear, the Smart X platform also delivers meaningful acquisition-cost savings compared with similarly configured premium superautomatic systems already established in the market.
“When we compare Smart X against properly configured premium alternatives, customers are seeing significant savings per machine while gaining a more advanced architecture,” Wakefield said. “For multi-location operators scaling beverage programs, those economics become very meaningful.”

The Smart X launch marks CAYE’s official entry into the U.S. specialty coffee market.
Founded in Suzhou Industrial Park and backed by Hillhouse and Meituan Longzhu, CAYE Technology develops proprietary brewing, grinding, extraction, and automation technologies for commercial coffee operations worldwide. The company currently holds nearly 300 patents globally, with more than 200 patents applied within the Smart X platform itself.
“Our mission is to use technology to create better coffee experiences,” said a representative from CAYE Technology. “The Smart X is the clearest expression of that mission so far, and Pro Coffee Gear is the ideal partner to introduce it to operators across the U.S. market.”
The Smart X 1 and 2 step models are now available for pre-order exclusively through Pro Coffee Gear with:
Limited new launch discount on all pre-orders placed before June 30
Limited initial U.S. allocation
Available finishes in White, Black, and Gray
